Digital X- Ray
An x-ray (radiograph) is a non-invasive medical test that helps physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions. X-rays are the oldest and most frequently used form of medical imaging. At PDC, we use digital x-ray techniques for all x-ray requirements. The department is located on the ground floor of every PDC facility where most of the general radiology work is done.
Ultrasound
It is a painless test that uses sound waves to create images of organs and structures inside our body. Since it uses sound waves and not radiation, it is thought to be harmless. It is often used to monitor the growth of an unborn child and check for abnormalities, if any. It is done routinely for pregnant women.
Color Doppler
A Doppler test uses reflected sound waves to evaluate blood as it flows through blood vessels. It helps doctors evaluate blood flow through the major arteries and veins of the arms, legs and neck. It can also show blocked or reduced blood flow due to narrowing in the major arteries of the neck that could cause a stroke. During pregnancy, Doppler ultrasound may be used to look at the blood flow in an unborn baby and to check the health of the fetus.
The examinations which are routinely done are as follows:
- Routine ultrasound which includes Abdomen, KUB, Prostate etc.
- Small parts ultrasound i.e. thyroid, orbit, neck, chest, scrotum, breast etc.
- Obstetrics which includes 1st trimester, 2nd trimester (anomaly scan) and 3rd trimester ultrasounds, level 2/3 ultrasounds and fetal echocardiography.
- Gynecological ultrasound which includes transabdominal and transvaginal assessment of pelvic organs.
- Musculoskeletal ultrasound for shoulder, elbow, wrist, knee, hip, ankle etc.
- Pediatric ultrasound which includes abdomen, pelvis, hip, neurosonograms etc.
- Vascular ultrasound which includes Color Doppler of the upper/lower exremities, carotids, abdomen (including portal system), scrotal, penile, obstetrics / gynecology etc.
- 3D/4D Ultrasound of abdomen, obstetrics and gynecological cases.
- Trans rectal ultrasound for prostate, rectum etc.
